Aldo Londi
Aldo Londi, born in Montelupo Fiorentino in 1911, was an Italian sculptor, painter and ceramist. His was a classical training, which led him to work as a painter for a few years, until in the thirties he decided to deepen his knowledge and techniques of working with ceramics. In 1946 he became artistic director of the Manufactory Cav. G. Bitossi & Figli, with whom he will work as a collaborator for more than fifty years. Londi was able to skilfully combine tradition and modernity to create modern products, the result of experimentation with different materials, colors and techniques. His competence and artistic sensitivity allowed him to collaborate over the years with designers and architects such as Ettore Sottsass, Remo Buti and many others.
