Charles & Ray Eames
Charles and Ray Eames were an American married couple of industrial designers who greatly contributed to the development of modern architecture and design. Their language is characterized by fluid, soft lines and characterized by a fun and functional but also sophisticated and elegant style. The couple gave expression to post-war American social movements, basing their design on the needs of society. Their works, in fact, had to be accessible to everyone and were made with simple materials and lines: "Do more with less" (Charles Eames). Their revolutionary work with molded plywood led to the innovative fiberglass seating. Among their best design products are the Eames Lounge Chair and the Eames Dining Chair, still present on the market and recognized internationally. Some of their works are exhibited in the permanent collection of MoMa in New York.
