Bodil Kjær
Bodil Kjær, born in 1932, is the female trailblazer of mid-century Danish design. Although she was a student of master Finn Juhl, she has always had an eye toward America, inspired by Charles and Ray Eames. In fact, many of her most notable designs originated during her time in the United States, where she worked briefly at Paul McCobb before moving to Boston to pursue her career in corporate interior architecture. Elegant and modern, her iconic pieces fit, even after 60 years, into our contemporary lives. Today Bodil Kjær has returned to Denmark and lives on the east coast of Jutland, where she continues to teach and do research.
