Børge Mogensen
Børge Mogensen, born in 1914 in Aalborg, was one of the most influential figures on the Danish design scene. He was the pioneer of the Nordic country's characteristic minimalist design: his intention was to create a line of functional and easily accessible design furniture. He trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and after graduating, he was placed at the helm of the furniture design studio of FDB Møbler, for which he worked until 1959, when he opened his own studio. After the death of his teacher, Kaare Klint, he succeeded him as designer of the Danish Museum of Decorative Arts in Copenaghen.
