Carl Hansen founded his company on the solid belief that high-level craftsmanship and serial production could go hand in hand, thus guaranteeing the final consumer a high-quality product at a reasonable price. Even today this simple but important idea is the basis of the production of Carl Hansen & Søn, which combines cutting-edge production technologies with traditional woodworking techniques. Most of the furnishings produced today were designed by some of the greatest Danish architects between the 1930s and 1960s: today as then, the fundamental elements behind each product remain the design, the idea and the craftsmanship. The idea is to continue producing solid and long-lasting furniture, using only wood from certified and responsibly managed forests.
