Gabriella Crespi
Gabriella Crespi was an Italian designer. Born in Saronno in 1922, she was the daughter of a jewelry designer and a mechanic and graduated in architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan. From the 1950s she dedicated herself to the creation of furniture and objects that balanced design with abstract sculpture: her first collection was in fact the "Small Lune Collection", composed of moon-shaped sculptures. In the sixties she began her collaboration with Maison Dior, which from the following decade led her to start producing furniture. She ended her career as a designer in 1985, only to resume in 2008 with the creation of re-editions of her old designs. She died at the age of 94 in Milan, in 2017.
