Matthew Hilton
Matthew Hilton is a British modern furniture and lighting designer. Born in Hastings in 1957, he attended Portsmouth College of Art and then Kingston Polytechnic in London, graduating in 1979. Between 2000 and 2004 he was Head of Furniture Design for Habitat and some of his furniture is exhibited in the permanent collections of Victoria and Albert Museum in London. In 2005 he was elected as a Royal Designer of Industry. He founded his brand in 2007. His style, mainly characterized by the processing of solid wood, includes high-quality items with a strong sculptural personality and contemporary elegance. Today the brand is produced by the De La Espada Group, a Portuguese company.
