Sebastian Hepting

Sebastian Hepting is a German designer, based in Munich, specializing in lighting design. After an apprenticeship as a craftsman, he moved to Forli to study carpentry in the workshop of Fendi Casa. However, his career began as an assistant to American designer Vladimir Kagan in 2000. In 2004 he began his collaboration with the brand Ingo Maurer, with whom he continues to work today. Hepting's design approach is very experimental: his creations are often born in the laboratory, the best place to experiment with new materials and unexpected light effects. The ultimate goal is always to create poetry, while innovation and technology remain only a means to an end.
