Tom Dixon
Tom Dixon is a British designer born in Sfax, Tunisia, in 1959, to an English father and a French-Latvian mother. Declaredly self-taught, Tom moved to England in 1963, where he learned the welding technique and where he began his career as an author of furniture made with industrial scrap. From the nineties he gained fame working with the Cappellini brand and then as creative director of Habitat and Artek. In 2002 he founded his eponymous studio, where he designs his works with a view to rethinking the relationship between designers and industry.
