cc-tapis is a company founded by Nelcya and Fabrizio Cantoni in France that has been producing rugs for 16 years, all completely hand-knotted by expert Tibetan artisans in Nepal. Innovative raw materials, patterns and weaving techniques are key parts of its success. A strong respect for the materials and culture of this ancient craft is reflected in the company's ecological approach, from hand-spinning the softest Himalayan wool to using purified rainwater for washing.
Description-
Les Arcs is a collection of five handmade wool rugs that incorporate unpublished designs by French designer and architect Charlotte Perriand, taken directly from her archives in Paris. This project, named after the Les Arcs 1600 ski resort in the French Alps, was pursued by the designer for more than 20 years but never realized due to lack of funds.
