This family of floor lamps originated after the exhibition “Cheerfully optimistic about the future”, presented at the Fondazione ICA in Milan in September 2021. The idea was to produce a simplified unlimited version of the lights that carries the sophistication and craftsmanship with which the limited edition works were made. The result is an arrangement of beautifully crafted bamboo poles placed on a metal base, creating a structure that holds a linear bulb. The bulb is supported with a series of wire springs that wrap around the poles, suspended equidistant from them.
Michael Anastassiades
Michael Anastassiades is an English designer. Before founding his studio in 2007, he designed and produced pieces in modest quantities for years, mainly creating limited editions. The company's philosophy is a continuous search for eclecticism, individuality and timeless quality in design. The laboratories where the pieces are produced have been carefully selected over the years for the quality of the materials used and the production techniques employed, guaranteeing high quality production standards. The objects designed by Anastassiades are minimal and functional, but full of an unpredictable vitality. They are exhibited in internationally renowned museums such as the MoMa in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, as well as among the most exclusive international interiors such as the Grand Hotel in Stockholm and the Soho House in New York.
