"Doodle" is a rough drawing done absentmindedly. This is how Maya Leroy's project was born, from the need to create without having to be too serious or think too much, while having fun. Air-dried clay proved to be an ideal medium for working independently. Opening up to new collaborations, SEM was fascinated by this form of craftsmanship with the aim of developing two special objects - created specifically by Maya for the Milanese brand - in an unlimited series produced by the artisans of the brand's network.

Eight series collections with the quality of a limited edition, designed and made in Italy. Seven designers who share an artisanal approach to design and refinement of details. This is the soul of SEM, a private label born in 2018 to realize thirty years of experience in retail and interior design. SEM translates its philosophy of living into a refined and multifaceted line of furniture, where elegance is also a symptom of the intelligence of the construction solutions. A proposal rich in sartorial details, with a constant attention to the functionality and contemporaneity of industrial design.
Maya Leroy
Maya Eline Leroy, born in 1994 to a Swedish mother and French father, is an artist and designer based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. She expresses her creativity through painting, drawing and clay modelling. His ‘Doodle Series’ is an ever-expanding collection of unique, handmade and hand-painted contemporary ceramics. During the first lockdown due to COVID-19, she started working with self-hardening clay, which allowed her to create independently without the need for firing, inspired mainly by the textile world for patterns and colours. She collaborated with SEM (Spotti Edizioni Milano) to develop two special objects, created especially for the Milanese brand, produced in unlimited series by the craftsmen of the SEM network.
