Nienke Sikkema

Nienke Sikkema (1988) graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague after studying history and journalism at the University of Amsterdam. After graduating, he began working at the Oude Horn, Bernard Heesen's glassblowing studio where he learned the art of glassblowing and began making his own designs in glass. Let the glass drip, stack it and roll it into a candlestick or sculpt animals with it. As long as the glass allows it and the material must not be forced. Shape, color, transparency and sparkle, all the qualities that glass possesses are used in his projects.
