Davide Groppi began in the late 1980s as a small workshop in the heart of Piacenza. From the very beginning, the brand stood out for its artistic approach to lighting — crafting poetic and emotionally resonant pieces, often inspired by ready-made objects, and always driven by simplicity and ingenuity. Over the years, the brand has earned numerous prestigious awards: the EDIDA award in 2011 for the Sampei lamp and again in 2024 for Vis à Vis; the Design Plus award in 2014 for Neuro; two Compasso d’Oro ADI awards in 2014 for Nulla and Sampei; and an Honourable Mention in 2016 for TeTaTeT. Davide Groppi’s lights are equally at home in private interiors and public spaces. His creations are particularly appreciated in the world of fine dining, having lit the restaurants of renowned chefs such as Albert Adrià, Massimo Bottura, Carlo Cracco, and Massimiliano Alajmo. His work has also been chosen by brands like De Padova, Boffi, Paola Lenti, and Christofle, as well as by museums, churches, and cultural landmarks such as the Royal Castle of Moncalieri and the former Church of Sant’Agostino in Piacenza.
