The central seam not only represents the distinguishing feature, but makes the backrest soft and at the same time supportive, guaranteeing optimum comfort even during prolonged use. The 142 Series is greatly appreciated for its functionality and its ability to blend into all kinds of domestic, work and hospitality environments. The collection includes both the S142 armchair, taller and more structured, and the PS142 model, in a lower, more encircling form.
Tecno
Tecno spa, founded in 1953 by Osvaldo and Fulgenzio Borsani, is an industrial company that can count on the support of an international network of branches and retailers. The Tecno brand identifies a company that still has its initial enthusiasm for engineering and technological innovation and that continues to consider the quality of design, materials and craftsmanship essential, thus allowing its products to overcome the challenges imposed by the future.
Eugenio Gerli
Eugenio Gerli was one of the most influential figures in Italian architecture and industrial design. Co-inventor with Osvaldo Borsani of the Graphis working system (1968), he designed several icons for Tecno, including the PS142 and S142 armchairs. Throughout a career spanning architecture, interior design and product innovation, Gerli worked extensively in Italy and abroad, developing projects for public spaces, offices, hospitality and private residences. His long-standing collaboration with Tecno and the Borsani brothers played a key role in shaping the company’s design language from the 1960s to the 1980s, resulting in timeless products where research, function and form merge seamlessly.
